Abstract

An international book publisher with an active server site produced bloated and under-optimised code and long complicated URLs. Additionally to this, the company wished their main site content not to be edited. They sought a quick and effective solution to their poor search engine listings to generate qualified traffic.

Solution

We took the page layout, formatted and replicated the site design entirely, removed excess code and implemented better optimised code where appropriate. Search terms were researched and tested for usability and effectiveness before producing optimised pages. These were then incorporated into the existing site in a manner that retained the professional presentation of the original design.

Their site is now listed in all the major search engines. From a core of thirty targeted search terms, over 200 top 10 rankings are achieved in the major search engines including 15 in the top 10 of Google. These produce well-targeted relevant traffic and direct visitors deep into the respective areas of the client site.
